This 2 Disc Set profiles Dragon Gate’s European tour with event’s held in England, Germany & Spain. The best matches from all three events are being show in it’s entirety.

Open the Spanish Gate
Barcelona Spain – October 30, 2009

1. The Young Bucks (Matt & Nick Jackson) vs. Kamikaze (Shingo Takagi & Dragon Kid)

This was fantastic. Shingo & Dragon blend really well as a big man/small man team and always bring in their A game. The Bucks fit the Dragon Gate style so well that it can mistakenly be said that they’re graduates from their Dojo.
Grade: B-

2. Elimination Match
PAC vs. El Generico vs. Mandril vs. Sean South

It was OK for the most part but it was 50/50 when it comes to the talent involved. PAC & Generico are major pluses but for the other two, kinda felt out of place.
Grade: C

3. WARRIORS 5 (CIMA, KAGETORA & Susumu Yokosuka) vs. World-1 (Naruki Doi, Masato Yoshino & BxB Hulk)

This one was a beauty. CIMA & Naruki Doi are huge rivals in Dragon Gate and still are butting head to this day and never disappoint in their matches. The rest played important roles within this 6-man tag. Pretty good stuff.
Grade: B

Open the German Gate
Oberhausen, Germany – October 31, 2009

1. The Young Bucks (Matt & Nick Jackson) vs. Mark Haskins & Tommy End

This was really fun where Haskins & End were pretty solid against an elite time like the Bucks. Nothing more can we say about the Bucks that we already don’t know.
Grade: B-

2. KAGETORA vs. Bad Bones

A bit boring but nothing too drastic. KAGETORA is really good.
Grade: C-

3. Susumu Yokosuka vs. Dragon Kid vs. Masato Yoshino vs. El Generico

I really liked this combination of talent in a winner take all match. All four are similar in styles and manage to create a hell of a spot fest. Dragon Kid & Yokosuka take the honors for this one.
Grade: B

4. Mike Quackenbush vs. CIMA

Quack being called “The Master of 1,000 Holds” made sure to use his vast knowledge to work on CIMA’s leg. This played a huge part in the match in which the psychology factor was alive and kicking.
Grade: B-

5. BxB Hulk, Naruki Doi & Zack Sabre vs. Ryo Saito, Genki Horiguchi & Emil Sitoci

A bit of a letdown considering the talent involved but still manage to leave a good taste in people’s mouths.
Grade: C+

6. WxW World Heavyweight Championship
Absolute Andy (c) vs. Shingo Takagi

Very Very Weird.
Grade: C-

UK Invasion 2009
Oxford, England – November 1, 2009

1. Real Hazard (Genki Horiguchi & Ryo Saito) vs. Jonny Storm & Marty Scurll

This was a really fun opener where both teams gave a spectacle to the present crowd. Storm & Scurll worked really well together.
Grade: B-

2. KAGETORA vs. Mark Haskins

Haskins was pretty decent here with the veteran KAGETORA. Good follow up for the opener.
Grade: C+

3. Masato Yoshino vs. Dragon Kid

This was very fast paced as what you would expect from these two. Another good follow up.
Grade: B-

4. Susumu Yokosuka vs. Shingo Takagi

Holy Cow! These two tore the house down in epic fashion. Shingo was a total monster against the smaller Yokosuka. Must See!
Grade: A-

5. CIMA & The Young Bucks (Matt & Nick Jackson) vs. World-1 (Naruki Doi, PAC & BxB Hulk)

Speechless
Grade: A

Final Thoughts:

For almost three full events of wrestling action from countries all over the world like Japan, Germany, England and of course, America,  this is a hell of a deal that is worth the $20. This 2 disc set is definitely the perfect investment for those who are interested in various wrestling products like Dragon Gate & Chikara.

Verdict: 8.5/10
